Verizon adds the LG Stylo 5v phablet to its portfolio

Posted August 24, 2019 | Mobile | News

The LG Stylo 5 made its debut in the US back in June, but only two carriers, Cricket and Boost Mobile offered the smartphone for a time. Sprint was the first major network operator to sell the phablet back in July, but T-Mobile picked it up as well a month later.

Today, Verizon has quietly added the mid-end smartphone to its roster, although the Big Red will sell it under a slightly different name – LG Stylo 5v. Apart from the name, there are no differences between Verizon’s model and those from the other US carriers.

Verizon is asking $240 for the LG Stylo 5v, but customers can buy one for as low as $10 per month for 24 months. Also, if you order the smartphone online or through My Verizon app, you can get $20 off your $40 activation fee.

Even though it costs less than $250, the LG Stylo 5v is quite decent specs-wise. The phablet sports a large 6.2-inch full HD+ FullVision display that offers true color and rich details. But the phone’s main selling point is the built-in stylus pen, which will allow users to take quick notes, color a picture, or use the Scratch Art tool.

LG Stylo 5v comes with a single 13-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel wide-angle selfie snapper in the front. On the inside, the smartphone is less impressive due to the low-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, although it does pack 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. Also, the 3,500 mAh battery should offer up to two days of usage time.
