The iPhone SE 2 would be released with an LG display
It ain’t an official Apple supply chain rumor until Korean media reports it, as their fellow countrymen from Samsung and LG are providing the bulk of iPhone displays. Thus, when the words “screen” and “budget iPhone” come together in a Korean publication, we are all ears. If you recall, there is nothing budget-er than the iPhone SE, and we’ve been waiting on a successor for a long time.
The deal isn’t entirely done yet, apparently, as LG scoffed at being the main provider for budget iPhone displays, but given that the customer is Apple, with all the economies of scale involved, it is likely to reconsider.
We understand that the initial orders will be small in size. In the past, when LG Display was supplying LCDs to high-end iPhones, the facilities were for mass-production.
