Microsoft’s introducing some discounts for some Surface devices this week. There is, however, a permanent price cut for the Surface Book 2.

When the device was first introduced, it started at a whopping $1,499. Microsoft then introduced a cheaper entry-level variation of the device, introducing a new Core i5 model with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage, lowering the entry-level to $1,199. That model is now $50 cheaper, bringing the entry-level pricing to only $1,149.

As Neowin notes, the entry-level model of the device doesn’t include quad-core processors, and it’s only the 7th gen Core i5 processor. Plus, there is no dedicated graphics on this thing either.

Microsoft is offering some minor discounts on other variants of the device, with all the other variants being $200 off. So the most expensive variant of the device which usually goes for $3,299, is now going for only $3,099. All models of the Surface Pro 6 are off $200 too, with the base-model being $100 off. The new Surface Book 2 entry-level pricing seems to be available in the UK, and possibly some other countries apart from the US, though the other discounts aren’t available outside America. You can checkout the Surface Book 2 here, and the Surface Pro 6.
