App pick of the week: Tiles 2.0

Stardock Tiles lets users create multiple desktops of related programs, files, and links through the use of a customizable sidebar on the Windows desktop. Version 2.0 adds Dark mode support, Stardock Curtains and Groupy integration, the ability to display only minimized or maximized windows, and high DPI display support. It’s avaialble as part of Object Desktop (now on sale for $29.99), or you can get it by itself for $9.99.

Developer pick of the week: .NET Conf Focus on Windows

Thursday Feb. 25 there will be a virtual edition of the .NET Conference that focuses specifically on WINDOWS. “Learn why and how to upgrade WPF and Windows Forms apps to .NET 5, see Visual Studio tooling improvements, learn how to leverage cloud services from your client apps, and a whole lot more. You’ll also see what the future of native device development with .NET will look like in .NET 6.” Free and open to all.

Enterprise pick of the week: Automatically translate Word docs into PowerPoints

As someone who tried Sway because of my ineptitude in creating PowerPoints, this new Office Insider feature – which turns Word text and images in a doc into a PowerPoint presentation – has me hopeful and intrigued.

Beer pick of the week: Delirium Black Barrel Aged

Sometimes craft beers can taste like spirits. This Belgian Strong Dark Ale called Delirium Black Barel Aged is one of them. This beer from Hyughe Brewery in Belgium is aged in oak bourbon  barrels. Lots of vanilla, carmel and wood with some strong alcohol tones. Super tasty and dangerous sipper at 11.5%
